The 2008 ALAA Breeders’ Roundtable is just around the corner!

 

The 3rd Annual ALAA Breeders’ Roundtable will be held in Austin TX, October 3-5, at The Crossings, http://www.thecrossingsaustin.com.

Registration is now open for both ALAA breeder members and non-members!

The Roundtable will begin the evening of Friday, October 3rd, and end Sunday, October 5th, right after lunch. The cost for attendance will be $330.00 per person for ALAA Member Breeders, and $430.00 per person for non-member breeders. This includes six meals (Friday night through Sunday lunch) and your lodging for two nights.  The rooms are double-occupancy. You are welcome to make arrangements for a roommate on your own, or we can take care of assigning a roommate for you.

We are very excited about the agenda, which includes the following:

·         Ovulation Timing and “DIY AI” – Artificial Insemination for the Do-It-Yourselfer - With live subjects! (Mother Nature permitting)

·         Dog and Puppy Photography – Pam McCarl, Speaker

·         Q&A session with a PennHIP vet who also does OFA - Dr. Raymond Bouloy, Speaker

·         Q&A session with a tax accountant who has a breeder client - Angelica Mings, Speaker

·         Labradoodles as Guide Dogs for the Blind - Michelle Pelletier, Guide Dogs of Texas, Speaker. Michelle will discuss specific observations about the maturation and other characteristics of Labradoodles compared to other breeds they use for service dogs for the blind.

·         IDOG – Beth Line, Jo-Anne Cousins and Shannon Klecka, Speakers

    1. Improving the quality of life of our dogs
    2. Rescue and rehome prevention
    3. Rescue/rehome methods

·         Breeder’s Assistant – We still need a speaker for this topic. Any experts out there?

·         Color Genetics – The Bb’s and The Ee’s – Linda Gelaude, Speaker

·         These are a few of our favorite things. – A session of sharing tips and tricks to make our lives easier.

·         Raffles! Prizes! Games! Freebies!

·         And more…stay tuned!

·         Last but not least, and one of the best benefits for you, is the opportunity to meet other breeders, those with whom we have laughed and cried, and those who are new, to make lasting friendships with others who have the love of our wonderful dogs in common!

The Crossings is located approximately 45 minutes from Austin Bergstrom International Airport. The San Antonio airport is 1 ½ hours away, and Dallas and Houston are each 3-4 hours away. Be sure to check Southwest Airlines and other low-cost airlines for the best fares! The Crossings does not provide transportation from the Austin airport; however, as the time approaches we should be able to help people combine for rides according to their arrival times.

  • ALAA Member Breeders $330.00 per person (U.S. currency).
  • Non-Member Breeders $430.00 per person (U.S. currency).

 

NOTE: Please send an email to moore.dixie@gmail.com indicating your name, your kennel name, your web address, and your method of payment. Also, if you already know who your roommate will be, please let us know who it is. Otherwise, indicate that you would like for us to assign a roommate, or if you prefer to decide later.

Space is limited, so register early! Registration will remain open until we are full or until 9/19/2008, the deadline by which the roster must be submitted to The Crossings.
