The ALAA, previously known as the ILA, focuses on nurturing the development of the Labradoodle and promoting
uniform breeding standards to insure the health and integrity of the breed.
A major way to achieve these goals is to register world-wide breeding Labradoodles and store their pedigree
information for their progeny. Without traceable ancestry, Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle breeders and purchasers
would loose the history of their dogs. This would pave the way for confusion and fraud with the possibility of no
workable solutions.
The ALAA guides breeders to the common goal of establishing reliability in type, coat, colors and temperament.
For the ALAA's stance on possible AKC, ANKC and other kennel club 'recognition' please read the ALAA Charter.
The ALAA has also instituted a Breeder Quality Assurance initiative in order set standards of excellence in
breeding practices for all member breeders.
Each ALAA Member Breeder has agreed to the following;
- To be bound by the ALAA Code of Ethics’ rules and regulations.
- To register all breeding dogs that they own.
- To microchip all breeding stock kept, sold, lent, given or leased to other parties.
- To submit their kennel’s Sales Agreement and Health Warranty/Guarantee to the Quality Assurance Manager for review and
approval.
As part of the ALAA's dedication to the Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle , the Quality Assurance Program verifies
the ethics of its Member Breeders and the quality of their programs.
The International Australian Labradoodle Association is the forerunner and sentry of Labradoodle and Australian Labradoodle integrity.
